The Board's comments on this appointment (including rationale, selection criteria, and the search and nomination process) Mr Sim Gok Hian had stepped down as the Executive Chairman and Director of Mencast Holdings Ltd. (the "Company") since 9 October 2009 and remains as the Senior Advisor of the Company and also a director of the Company's subsidiary, Mencast Marine Pte Ltd ("MMPL"). Mr Sim has expressed his desire to relinquish his directorship in MMPL and will like to recommend the appointment of Ms Sim Wei Wei as a director of MMPL as his replacement. Ms Sim has been the Administration and Human Resource Manager of the Company since July 2008 and being familiar with the operations of the Company and its subsidiaries, Mr Sim is of the view that Ms Sim is a suitable candidate for this appointment. The Nominating Committee of the Company, after having reviewed the basis and justifications for Ms Sim's appointment as a director of MMPL provided by Mr Sim, supports Mr Sim's recommendation for the appointment of Ms Sim Wei Wei as a director of MMPL.
